HYUNDAI SANTA Fe

Hyundai India, country’s second largest car manufacturer, has launched the automatic version of its Sports Utility Vehicle Hyundai Santa Fe today. The new SUV model which has a six-speed automatic transmission has been named as Hyundai Santa Fe AT and is also powered by the same 2.2L CRDI engine as its other siblings. Hyundai has launched this automatic version almost exactly after completion of one year of the 4x4 Santa Fe in India which has by now made it own presence in the premium SUV segment in India.

Performance
The all new Hyundai Santa Fe is packed with diesel engine only. The 2.2 L CRDi diesel engine has a piston displacement of 2199 cc. The Euro V engine of Hyundai Santa Fe is incorporated with 4 cylinders and 16 valves with DOHC (Double Over Head Camshafts) that offer clearer emission and better fuel efficiency. The CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) fuel supply system works for smooth and swift supply of fuel without any interruption and thus offering better performance. This powerful diesel engine delivers a top power of 197 Ps at 3800 rpm and belts out peak torque value of 420 NM at 1800-2500 rpm via 6 speed manual transmission. The Hyundai Santa Fe is available in two trims that are a two wheel drive and a 4 wheel drive variant. The torque is distributed to front and rear wheels as per road condition in 4 wheel drive variant. The engine also incorporates Electro - Variable Geometry Turbo Charger (EVGT) that propels the vehicle in a linear order across any tarmac. Loaded with all this innovative mechanism, the CRDi engine performs excellently. The engine behaves gently and remains cool whether its high acceleration or off-reading.

Safety
The all new Hyundai Santa Fe is a very safe car and it is equipped with both active and passive safety features. The advanced safeguards in the new Hyundai Santa Fe offers a tension free drive with greater peace of mind. The SUV is packed with six standard airbags i.e. dual front airbags, side air curtain airbags, etc. Presence of rollover sensor to the side curtain airbags adds more safety to the passengers. The top end Santa Fe variant has been equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), one of the industry’s most effective life-saving technologies.
The NHTSA surveys prove that SUVs equipped with ESP experience 63 percent fewer fatalities in single-vehicle crashes. The all new Hyundai Santa Fe has a very sound and dynamic braking system with front and rear disc brakes as standard fitments. The car comes with a four-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist. The ABS prevents wheel locking in case of abrupt braking. Brake assist is a technology that provides maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected. The Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) is also present in the new Santa Fe which automatically equalizes the braking force to the front and rear axles, based on the vehicle loading conditions. The active head restraints helps to prevent whiplash by automatically reducing the space between a front occupant’s head and the head restraint during a rear collision. The Santa Fe is a quiet performer that is loaded with much-needed SUV technologies; it has got tilt and telescopic power steering that enables the driver to handle the vehicle comfortably. The higher end variant is mated with cruise control that helps to maintain a constant speed.
